Recommended Prior Achievement: 

  • Successful completion of Year 10 and Community (Club or School) Soccer participation.

What will I learn:

In the Certificate II in Community Services (Community Sport Program) you will develop:

Knowledge and application of

  • Fundamental skills in planning, communication, leadership, wellness and inclusion, as well as supporting work activities in organisations that contribute across diverse community groups, using Community Sport (Soccer) Programs for context.
  • Player skills (Soccer), knowledge and performance for promoting personal health and personal leadership (Community Role Model).
  • Activities as a Community Sports Coach (Service Provider), either working or volunteering at community-based sport clubs, after-school sports programs and organisations in the Australian sport industry generally.

What attributes do I need:

You should be someone who likes to work collaboratively in teams, with a focus on positive relationships and inspired behaviours. You should possess good observation and listening skills, with the ability to support, encourage and communicate effectively with diverse age groups. As a key part of this Program, you will be required to participate in “on pitch” Soccer training (Player and Coach).
