General Mathematics

Year 11 General Mathematics (S1)

General Mathematics extends students’ mathematical skills in ways that apply to practical problem solving. In Semester 1 of Year 11 General Mathematics, students investigate Statistics in real-life contexts and are introduced to the concepts of Matrices and Networks. Year 11 General Mathematics students will be assessed on their learning through Skills and Applications Tasks, including: Tests and Mathematical Investigations.

Prerequisites: Prerequisites: B for both Semesters of Year 10 General Mathematics or C for both Semesters of year 10 Mathematical Methods

Year 11 General Mathematics (S2)

General Mathematics extends students’ mathematical skills in ways that apply to practical problem-solving. In Semester 2 of Year 11 General Mathematics, students investigate personal financial management and extend their knowledge of Trigonometry and Linear and Exponential Relationships. Year 11 General Mathematics students will be assessed on their learning through Skills and Applications Tasks, including: Tests and Mathematical Investigations.
