Year 9 Textiles and Fashion

In 9 Textiles and Fashion, students learn hand and machine sewing fundamentals and safety protocols. They gain insights into fabric materials, their uses, and fashion industry sustainability. Using the design process (design, plan, produce, evaluate), students create items like a pin cushion, pencil case, and pyjama shorts, mastering stitch types, zip insertion, elastic casings, and simple pattern designs.
