What will I learn?

In Year 8 English, you will study the way novels, plays, poetry, films and media texts communicate important ideas and explore issues within our society and others. There is an emphasis on Independent Reading and on applying the grammar of reading and writing in communication. You will also learn how authors and directors communicate their messages through their texts and develop your creative writing skills.

You will focus on reading, writing, speaking and using technology in different ways and for different purposes.
