What will I learn?

In Year 7 English, you will study the way novels, plays, poetry and films explore important ideas and issues within our society and others. There is an emphasis on Independent Reading and on applying the grammar of reading and writing in communication.

You will have the opportunity to develop your creative writing skills, through an in-depth study of the Narrative genre. You will also develop your understanding of the language and purpose of persuasion, through an in-depth study of the Persuasive genre.

You will focus on reading, writing, listening, speaking and using technology in different ways and for different purposes.
