What will I learn?

In Yr 10 English, you will study the way different novels, plays, poetry and films explore important ideas and issues we face and experience within our society. Students will be explicitly taught how to analyse and respond to a short persuasive or literary text, which will be assessed in an end of semester examination. You will also continue to develop an understanding about how these authors and directors communicate their messages.

You will have the opportunity to develop your creative, informative and persuasive skills, through shared and independent tasks. You will focus on reading, writing, speaking and using technology in different ways and for different purposes.

Demonstrate an interest in the world around you and the different ideas presented through texts.
Plan, structure and revise responses in a clear spoken and written manner.
