Year 8 Design Technology

Students showcase design and technology skills through practical projects using materials such as wood, metal, and plastics. They learn woodworking, electronics, soldering, and welding, using CAD software for 3D printing and laser cutting. By Year 8, students explain how design impacts the future, create, and adapt solutions based on needs, and justify decisions using sustainability criteria. They communicate ideas with technical terms and digital tools, independently and collaboratively managing production processes to safely produce designed solutions.
