Religious Heart of the College

During our Year 9 Religion lesson we have been discussing the experience of the Trinity: God, Jesus, Holy Spirit in the lives of people.

One of the activities the students had to do was to choose a black and white picture from a range of images, and then describe how that picture reminded them about an aspect of God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit. Here are some examples of how the students responded.

Even though our life can be rocky, we will always have God beside us. Through our darkest days, God will help provide us comfort and a new voice.
Jaimee Johns

There are highs and lows in life.  Jesus will bring you through the tough times. Jesus is there in the good and bad times.
Caitlin Hughes

Holy Spirit:
I chose an image of people celebrating. I believe the Holy Spirit is something worth celebrating.  Although it may not be easy to find, it is still important.

Over the last term many of our keen and talented families have been knitting squares for blankets, sewing blankets together or making quilts for people in need, even though we have not yet put out our appeal. Thank you so much – it means we already have a head start! These items will go to Anglicare at the end of Term Four and are distributed to people who are suffering hardship.

If you would like to join in with this charitable venture, we are asking for knitted/crocheted blankets or squares to make blankets. We don’t mind what size as they are used as blankets, cot blankets, knee rugs etc. We would like to have everything finished by the end of Week 8, so get busy with those needles!

We really appreciate the effort that you go to, to support our charitable giving.
