R U OK? DAY at St Columba College
Thursday September 12 was R U OK? Day, a national day of action dedicated to reminding everyone that every day is the day to ask, “Are you ok?”, and to support those struggling with life’s ups and downs.
The day began with a whole of school drone photo, with the students gathering on the oval to spell out an important message, ‘Everyone Belongs’. Following a liturgy, students gathered in Kinship groups to participate in wellbeing focused activities such as meditation, yoga, walking and even knitting.
The day concluded with the school’s very first Run4Fun Colour Explosion. Students and teachers wore white and walked a designated route around the school, passing through an inflatable finish line where they were covered in environmentally friendly coloured powders.
The day was a huge success, with both students and staff having a lot of fun! Money raised from the colour run will be put towards student wellbeing initiatives. A huge thank you to all the staff and students who participated in the event, especially Mr Daniel Hickey and Mrs Shelley Enders for organising the day.
