St Columba College held two Cybersafe Families Parent Seminars over two days in Week 5, one in the morning in the Junior School, and a further seminar to the Middle and Senior parents in the evening, which was held in the Middle School Auditorium. These seminars informed on how to effectively manage your digital environment with confidence. Topics included: cyberbullying, digital footprint, friends and online friends, social media, protecting online identity, online grooming, device management and more. There were notable differences between the presentations, which catered for their audiences; primarily the parent seminars were educational around the both present and future online concerns for our students. Thank you to the parents, caregivers and the extended community for attending.
Cybersafe Families also delivered a number of presentations to students during the week. They began in the Junior school, presenting to Years 4 and 5, and then in the Middle School, where the presentation was made to each year level from Year 6 to Year 9. Students were educated around a number of issues ranging from gaming, social media, online predators and privacy settings, cyberbullying, and sexting to name a few.
