Academic Scholarships

St Columba College is committed to developing the whole child, and an important part of that development is as a learner. We understand that young people develop their intellectual capabilities at different times, and that different students require different types of learning to maximise their potential.

The Academic Extension Program at the College is designed to meet the needs of students with high academic ability or potential. The Program provides curricular and co-curricular opportunities, and students in the Program experience different learning opportunities.

To determine a student’s suitability for the Program, standardised tests such as NAPLAN, school reports, other accreditation and teacher recommendation are taken into consideration. If they have not done so previously, applicants for the Program will be asked to undertake an AGAT (ACER General Ability Test) – a nationally recognised tool for measuring academic gift and talent.

Applications for Academic Scholarships are open for new students to the College and existing St Columba College students in Years 7-11.

Applications from students of academic gift and ability will be invited to interview. If successful, they will be asked to join the Academic Extension Program upon commencement.
